New Advocacy Discussion List on Charitychannel
CharityChannel.com is pleased to announce the addition of ADVOCACY to its family of nonprofit-sector forums. ADVOCACY will focus on the business of nonprofits advocating for change. Social change organizations face special challenges and opportunities not always faced by other organizations. ADVOCACY subscribers will discuss a range of topics, from the tightrope of lobbying disclosure requirements to the concerns of media exposure and coverage. From the benefits and perils of political struggles to the passion and, yes, even danger, of sometimes being affiliated with organizations and causes that arouse the passions of supporters and foes alike. Sometimes we feel isolated in our struggles to sustain and improve our advocacy; ADVOCACY provides a place to discuss, advise, support, and question other professionals in the field. CharityChannel's ADVOCACY forum will also serve as a unique "truce zone" for professionals associated with advocacy organizations of all descriptions and missions to discuss the concepts, techniques, and business aspects common to all. It's a place where organizational enemies can trade war stories, learn from each other, and maybe even share a good-natured laugh. You can subscribe to ADVOCACY either via email, or from the CharityChannel.com web site. Point your web browser to <http://www.CharityChannel.com/Forums> and click on "Subscribe . . . " for ADVOCACY.
